2017 what a crazy, fun and busy year you’ve been!
I’ve said it before but I’ll say it again and again – thank you to each and every couple for inviting me into your day! I’ve been genuinely thrilled to see you married and capture the memories for you. The kindness of your families and love between you is incredibly special – thank you, you’re the best!
I must say, it’s been the best adventure travelling the UK, often with the best friend a girl could ask for (my husband!). We’ve driven from the heights of the Peak District, to the seaside in Suffolk, to the rolling Cotswolds in Gloucestershire. We even managed to get away to Sorrento in Italy for a much needed break!
As many of you know, for me, photography is about stories – most of the time it’s about telling the most beautiful of love stories that come together to make a wedding day. It’s precious and incredible, and truly an honour to get to do this. This year, too, I’ve had the opportunity to photograph internationally in order to tell more unheard stories from around the world. To my amazement one of my photo essays, from a trip to India in February, was shortlisted in the World Nomads Travel Photography Competition and it’s been lovely to see some of these photographs being used for the benefit of others. I’m excited to continue this work in next year, as I have a trip lined up to Nepal.
When it comes to wedding stories, I’ve been excited to see work featured on some of my favourite wedding blogs like Rock My Wedding, with Marnie and Gavin’s beautiful city wedding, as well as being over the moon at becoming a Regional Finalist in The Wedding Industry Awards.
It’s been a cracking year and I couldn’t have done it without you – my amazing couples, my wonderful family and dearest of friends/facebook supporters/other photographers… the list goes on!
So here you are – a few of my favourite ‘little in between’ moments from this past year. I can’t wait to see what 2018 has in store.
